Title: Suspension Parts Colors
Post by: gbowman on January 14, 2022, 02:24:40 PM
I've seen many different versions of leaf springs, center link, coil springs, front suspension parts colors. Black, gray, silver, etc... Is there any reference regarding factory colors of said components or is it a mixture of colors based on where the car was built? Thanks.

Get one of Jerry MacNeish’s Camaro restoration reference books.  Can’t go wrong.

Any idea where to order one, if still available?  Thanks Gregg

I've no idea if they are sold elsewhere on the Internet.

I just spoke to Jerry (he's currently at Mecum) and although the books are no longer in print, he DOES still have some he'll sell so you can either get one from Jerry for $35 plus tax and shipping, or you can get the 67-68 book from AMAZON (https://www.amazon.com/Definitive-1967-1968-Camaro-Fact-Book/dp/0962639907/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=) for $1200 bucks!!! And that's USED!!

He's not selling in bulk anymore because he doesn't have a lot left so I highly recommend if you want one, get it now.

I'm not familiar with the 67-68 book. Can you elaborate a bit? Thanks.

Jerry wrote two books:

1. The Definitive 1967-1968 Camaro Z/28 Fact Book (4th edition)
2. The Definitive 1969 Camaro Z28-SS396 Fact Book (4th edition)

Both are now out of print, but like I said, Jerry still has some left at his shop.

Order it directly from Jerry.  He will write a note in it and sign it for you. Or at least he always has in the past.

There is also the 1969 Camaro Legends Judging manual that has photos of correct finished suspension and other components. That can be ordered thru PaceCarL78@gmail.com

People are free to do whatever they want.

No list is absolutely perfect. Nobody has seen every car.
