I realized today that there are two different outer fin shapes, # 3898132 has squared outer fin ends, # 3914781 has all rounded fins.
Early vs late ? My brother's Nova has the rounded fins. Anyone get to the bottom of this before?
Thanks,
Victor

3898132 (P/N 3902899) is the first design and 3914781 (P/N 3918764) is the second design which went into production in early to mid December, 1966.
I was working on the hood/louver report for several years but had to hand it off to Bryon since I couldn't get the pictures I needed. I'm not sure if he's been able to complete the report or not.

Thank you Ed. That's what I was looking for.

Does anyone have photos of the two types?
I assume an 11B would be the first type, square ones.

These are the pictures from the hood report (see below). The top picture is the first design and the bottom picture is the second design.
And yes, an 11B car would have the first version.

Not finished. Waiting on all the pics needed.

What pictures do you need ?

What pictures do you need ?
Unless Bryon has gotten them, we still need high quality, high resolution pictures of:
1. The top view of the 67 SS hood (SS-350 or SS-396 as the upper skin is the same for both)
2. The 67 SS-350 hood inner structure
3. The 67 SS-396 hood inner structure (note that the SS-350 and SS-396 inner structures are different from each other)
These are the only pictures still holding us up because they need to be original hoods from original cars. I've been trying for several years to get these!!

SS 350 hood pics need to be from a November 66 or earlier build. And it for sure has to be the original SS hood for the car.

Took a couple of pics of my 11B hood. The fins are squared off.

I can take some photos of the 11B SS 350 hood but it has the deluxe insulation so under photos wont help. Didn't you also say you need top photos with the fins removed as well?
-
Yes need top photos as well.
