Title: 1969 Camaro L78 M22 - Cortez Silver
Post by: bcmiller on December 23, 2021, 02:35:45 AM
Lloyd also took pics of this car at MCACN in November and wants to share some of the original details.

This is the only pic I have of the car, and may replace it later if I get a better one.

Lloyd told me he took amost 400 pictures of this car. Car was originally from Murray-Bryant Chevrolet in Tucson Arizona. Guy Youngdell bought it from the original owner 2 years ago. Sat in my garage for 3 months while the original owner was having work done at his house. The picture you have was taken where the car was sitting for several years....under a carport....Joe

Assume this is an X22 car ? I'm going to pin this on my wall as an inspiration for what my L78 should look like (except for the wheels). Looks fantastic, can't wait to see more of it -

The car is a X22. Car has some interesting options and is unrestored. It had 11,998 original miles on it when it left my house....Joe

Low miles and stored in a carport. Like the old line out of the movie "The Maltese Falcon" - 'the stuff that dreams are made of'. Certainly is -

This car is part of the HBC collection.

Jim’s Description
Here we have the most original 1969 Camaro I've ever seen in my 35 years. 12,025 original miles. SS 396-375 hp, M22, 3.73. Every single part is original and zero paint touch ups. This car is a time capsule. Nothing, repeat nothing has been changed. Battery replaced and tires replaced in 1976. That is it. Western car. Absolutely no decay. Cars like this are unique to say the least. Window sticker, Protect O Plate, build sheet, owner history, original keys, original sun visor card, original manual. There will be more photos and a complete run down on everything. Once in a lifetime car.

i know for sure that is the window sticker - that protecto plate? - is the the one for the car? - because the dealer on the window sticker is from Tuscon NOT Indiana.  Dealer trade car?

Very nice car indeed. I guess memory has started to fade a bit, reading that the M-22 cost $6.10 more than the 396/375.

The POP was actually is a safety deposit box with other car papers when you were by. The POP was with the car when Guy took delivery. It doesn't look like I ever got a picture of it. Lloyd took a bunch of pictures at MCACN of everything that was with the car...Joe

.

Is it my imagination, or are the pulleys out of alignment?

I had a high winding small block with pulleys like that and it frequently sent the fan belt flying.

I noticed that also but I think it is the camera angle causing it to look that way.

I'm pretty sure the alternator bracket itself is bent......how - beats me.  But it has a weird tilt to it.
