On the front pad of one of my engines it has V0327HN with a vin of 19lo49561. My questions are what was the Engine Application Suffix Code HN used for ? and any guesses on the partial vin (what vehicle)
Thanks Darryl

I have HN as being as being a 300 HP (4bbl) 350 with a TH-350 out of a fullsize car. No guesses on the car, other than it is a 1969 Chevrolet built in LA. Maybe others will have more info???

Here are all the numbers Front pad 19l049561 vo327hn , on the backside of the block drivers side 12 gm, and 3956618 ,and on the pass side c259, and in the middle behind the distributer a number 3

3956618 block used on 68-69 A,F and Corvette 4 bolt, 69 302 Z28 4 bolt, 69 327 Fullsize car 2 bolt and 69 350 cars 2 and 4 bolt.
C259 block cast on march 25 1969
V0327HN Engine build date at Flint on March 27, 1969, HN could be either 327 full size or 69 350/300 hp 4 bolt full size.
I noticed also the the HN suffix code was used in 65 for the Corvette. (Nastyz28.com)

"HN" was used on the '65 Corvette, but only with a 3782870 block.

HN could be either 327 full size or 69 350/300 hp 4 bolt full size.
The 3956618 was available as a two-bolt or 4 bolt 300 hp version of the 350 V-8. There is no record of the HN suffix being used in a 327 3956618 block that I can find reference to.

Is there any way to track the type of car by that partial vin?

Whatever it is, 350 or 327 it didn't originally come out of a Camaro. No 327s in a Camaro after 1/1/69. This engine came out of an Impala, or Chevrolet (full sized) assembled at the LA plant.
