Brings back a lot of fond memories about my 20 year search for a '69 Pacer, over three states and maybe 20+ cars until I found the one I bought in '94. I've seen some real doozies, including Flintstonemobiles and cars with trees growing up through the trunk - not for the faint of heart. I applaud Dennis for the "rescue" of this one - pretty entertaining video. I just hope the cameraman got to participate in the feast at the end -

Regards,
Steve

He was afraid they would pull it in half it was so rusty.
To do it right and replicate original features on the repro metal panels there is 300+ hours worth of work before you start body work and paint.

Did they ever say what the proof of it being an actual festival pace car or even a pace car?

I ask, because I've seen a video where Dennis says he found a 67 pace car but it wasn't one. I'm not even sure it was an actual dealer promo car.

Agree and one would be upside down so fast it’s not funny. Huge shame but it’s no way worth it in reality but hope someone does.

The 50 Fesyival cars VIN's were listed yeaars ago in the Camaro Enthusiast (USCC) mag. I looked for my old copy last night; not with my other issues. so I have to keep looking. Listing was complete not only with the track cars, but also the dealers and end customers for most of the cars after the race. I still miss seeing the old periodicals -

Car is really over the hill in condition, the comment before about being upside down is correct, I wouldn't doubt that a Dynacorn resurrection could come into play: would be easy to identify through the known VIN number in this case as a rebody. Then again, I've seen one really bad convertible rebodied around the original firewall and VIN numbers, and retain it's original title and registration without violating state laws. Ethical ? Judge for yourself -

Shame this car wasn't taken care of - or any of the cars exposed in the woods for 30-40 years. Horrible -

Steve

This place is in my neck of the woods. Appears to be in Sanford NC. I could have used some sun visor brackets of a TA Firebird this afternoon. The pacer would have to be someone’s (labor of love) hobby.

It would have to be a matching doc'd L89 to warrant a correct resto.
