I saw one at a show last weekend that the guy took the tag off & pounded all the paint codes...almost flat. He was telling people it had special paint so no paint code....Joe

Now that’s funny…..not sure why anyone would  bother doing one that bad then install it back on car.

A classic ! At least the seller makes no claims of authenticity, other than calling it a Z28 RS. Beats the one at a local show here that secured the tag with a couple of #10 sheet metal screws (and a repro tag to boot).

At the least - it would have been more acceptable (and believable) if they hadn't gone to so much trouble to ruin the tag - it was before the X code addition for a Norwood car in the first place.

Regards,
Steve

Proof positive that our policies, safety labels etc have destroyed the natural order of selection and ruined the normal thinning of the herd. We are now left with this. Close you eyes and envision the gleam in his eye, and the pride he took, hanging that on the car!

That, and probably sniggered like "Precious Pup" from the cartoons back in the early 60's while doing it. I would rather have no tag as to having that pregnant looking thing.

"gleam in his eye"...now that's funny. :). I think there was more than gleam in his eye. Why even do that to a perfectly legimate tag as if no one is going to notice the difference.

Well the pool of '69 Z28 was dwindling so why not make a few more.
