Title: Y 77 Battery
Post by: DONCZ28 on May 12, 2021, 12:14:49 AM
I purchased  an NOS  Y 77 Battery.  Was wondering if the assembly line batteries  had   "Delco Energizer" highlighted  in yellow  paint ,or just the service units ?

This is what you missed in the link Ed gave you...Joe

On factory installed batteries, the color was used on the 5 vented caps and on the Delco Eye electrolyte indicator, but the raised text on the battery was not highlighted. Service batteries had the text on the battery highlighted with color of the series.

Check out amazing survivor thread under original cars. First page shows original battery and y77 replacement (pictures and describes difference) . Both battery’s were saved from when car was new .

whether NOS or a service replacement, it is still a cool piece. I have been looking for a good deal on either for my late 08C 69Z.
