40987 (P/N 6470779) was used on literally millions of GM cars and trucks with a 350 or 307 from the early to late 1970's.

No. As a matter of fact, no high HP cars at all. Just basic 305 and 350 engines.

Depends on how much you want to spend! Your Delphi will work just fine, or you can get an NOS AC DELCO (https://www.ebay.com/itm/274778250297?hash=item3ffa0f5c39:g:GKkAAOSwK21gSXgT) similar appearing pump on ebay for around $100 or so, or you can go really expensive and get a rebuilt 1969 Z28 DATE CODED (https://www.ebay.com/itm/293505128783?hash=item445644d94f:g:CFoAAOSw3Ztcv9Y2) pump for several hundred!

Dont even bother buying from the guy on ebay in the link ( Paul Baker at Goat Hill Classics). He will just take your check and cash it and never respond to you.

I don't recommend "rebuilt" fuel pumps anyway (even if you're having your car judged) so I would just go with a NOS pump that "appears" to be correct. Like that DELCO PUMP (https://www.ebay.com/itm/274778250297?hash=item3ffa0f5c39:g:GKkAAOSwK21gSXgT) on ebay I previously linked to.

I don't think anyone is reproducing the 69 Z28 pump but you might want to check with the major vendors.

I ordered a "rebuilt" pump for my Z from a large vendor.  It got here and the logo was wrong and the weep holes.  No signs of corrosion.  I sent it back and they called me irate that I would say it was a reproduction.  He said I have 6 more of these in stock what date do you need.  He called back all of them had the same date.... So at some time, someone was restamping reproduction pumps with z part number. This was like 4 years ago
