Warranty paperwork for our old cars seems to be very rare, especially for serious engine work.
With my Silverado which is several years old now, I do have the full detailed paperwork of what they replaced under warranty when I bent a push rod and had a lifter go bad. They actually replaced quite a bit of stuff and there is a "kit" for this, so it must not be all that uncommon.
BUT, on old stuff, paperwork seems hard to find.
Well I came across something recently. A valve spring replacement for a 1968 Camaro L78 with 4.10 axle. I know this because I also have the POP. But attached is the warranty service order from late 1970. Remember, this car would have had a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty.
Anyway, I thought it was kinda cool.

Very cool indeed. Someone must have been over reving that poor thing.
It seems pretty straight forward to keep repair receipts nowadays. If for no other reason I keep them to just show any potential buyer down the road. However, that doesn't seem to be the norm back in the day. I know I never kept any when I was younger.

Like today when cars were traded in dealers, wholesalers, and used cars lots most times did not want the past owners name to be known to the new owner. They went through cars and removed anything concerning the former owners information. They still do it. I recently traded in a 3 year old pickup in perfect condition and offered to talk to any future buyer to let them know why I traded it. It is still on their lot as of 2 weeks ago since Thanksgiving. No calls. I tracked one of my 69,s back 4 owners to 1977, then that owner said he bought it off a used car lot, dead end.

I blanked out the name. It was on there, and also on the POP. Looking for the car, but it appears to be gone forever.

Removing all the previous owner paperwork is useless if they don't delete phone books and navigation destinations too.

Bit off topic but I loved seeing it was done Holdrege, NE. The 68 RS I now own my Dad bought in Oxford, NE.
