Hey everybody, I live in the San Francisco area of California and have arranged for Jerry MacNeish to come and certify my 69 Z/28 on April 17th and 18th.
We have 4 cars including mine for him to certify so far and we need 2 more To make the cost for each car to be done at a substantial discount from what the normal cost is per car.
He will be conducting the certifications at my shop in San Rafael on the 2 days mentioned. So you would have to bring your car there which is equipped with a car lift and a large enough space to handle that many cars.
Please contact me at 415-272-8133 if you live anywhere in the San Francisco area, or elsewhere if you are willing to travel to San Rafael.
Thanks
Peter Rose

Those close would do good to take advantage of this opportunity...
If you have a rare HP Camaro - Chevelle - Nova - having a cert from Jerry is one of the best ways to alleviate someone's doubt regarding the car's authenticity.
I have told customers with nice HP Camaro's that are not into them like me- ie truly deranged- that Yes I told you it's real and there is no doubt in my mind, however when you go to sell my saying it is what it is doesn't carry near the weight as Jerry's, his FULL CERTIFICATION which shows everything as presented on something like a loaded L78 or a really good Z28 will make the car much easier to sell, plus answer questions buyers will have.

Yes a good chance for people to have JM inspect their car.
-
Jerry M certified a 69 Z I am restoring for a customer. The owner knows for a fact it was manual steering from previous history. Jerry told him it is normal to have a 1967 power steering box in a 69 Z.
Sorry,
I am not going to worship someone on my knees like they are a god. Too bad the owner paid for bad info.

There are always two sides to every story. I personally agree that having Jerry's appraisal report can make or break a cars value.

You could revert to being open-minded and ask to see page 2 of Jerrys report.

The complete reports I have seen detail down to repro fastener issues, which is why I question someone's motives when I am presented with anything less.

Because of the numbers JM has inspected I would have to call him an "expert" even if he misses something occasionally. I have never met him but spoke to him by phone, he seems to be a really nice guy.

I know Jerry personally. He’s a straight up guy.
A credit to the hobby.

Pete,
I live in San Rafael. Own a 68, restored but not numbers matching, so not suitable for Jerry's review. Would be interested in seeing the Camaros that will be certified, and meeting some fellow Camaro owners. Any chance of stopping by (for a short visit) during the inspections. Private message is ok.

Hi Joe, yes that would be fine.
He will actually be there on April 14 and 15
You can call me at 415-272-8133 then I will let you know where my shop is.
Thanks
Pete

Could be “he said he said”.
It’s still a free country (I think). But unless you have read the full report, might want to throttle back a bit. Jerry knows a 67 box would not be on a 69.

Owner sent me a copy of the report and it states power steering. The present owner contacted the original owner and was informed it was originally manual steering. It now has a 67 dated power steering box which is not on the report. All it states is power steering.

Sending you a pm.
Just so you know, I have changed out power steering to manual steering on a car for my dad - because he wanted quick ratio manual steering - and I bet nobody could tell it wasn’t factory.
