i recently acquired a 12A RS/Z with engine assembly of 11/21/68. so i would say its a relatively early car. the unfortunate part of the car is it is missing many of the dated accessories. my question is how early is too early? are September parts too early for this car or is acceptable? in the case of the wheels, i believe i need AD wheels and the only date ive found are september dates. is this the only known batch for the AD wheels?
thanks for any input.

my 10B (early) 69 LA Z has AD wheels dated 8-20. Perhaps other guys can chime in if they have later dates.

My 10B Z has 9-20 AD Wheels. I'm pretty sure there are other dates after though. I also know there is an August date.

Depends on the "accessory" - my 01C X77 has one August dated exhaust manifold, and the same for the flywheel. Starter and distributor are December, Holley is November, undated and no part #772 fan, early January fan clutch. All 5 original wheels are YH, as the car is well past the mid-December YH introduction.

Steve

There is a late Oct date for AD wheels, my 10D car had four 9/20 wheels when purchased, however while looking for a single I ran across a couple of LATE Oct wheels which I thought were too close to the build date to have been on the car.

I had a 10-24 AD wheel, which I traded for a YH with my date...

My 12B Z has the 10-24 AD’s. Those were the last AD’s made.

Jerry MacNeish's informative fact book on 69 Z/28's would be a good tool for you.

its is a great book. refer to it a lot. but unfortunately it just has general Z data. not a bunch of comparing from early to late unless its spoilers or hoods or exhaust ect.

Most components would be Oct/Nov, favoring Nov.
