One of my friends got so tired of individuals asking him whether his 1969 Z28 was a real one or not, he brought along all the original documents. The cross-ram was purchased from the original dealer and when I asked him how his Z28 ran, he told me it needed 4.56 gears instead of the 4.10s.

Great looking Z!

Here is my 1998 Z28, parked next to another friend's 1971 Ferrari Daytona Spyder. I couldn't believe he would drive a Daytona Spyder on a rainy day to our local Cars & Coffee!

Nice! Thanks for posting!

Does it have JL8 too?

This 1969 Z28 does not have the JL8 option, but has the following options:
floor mats - $11.63
defroster rear window - $22.15
console - $53.75
spoiler front rear - $32.65
positraction - $42.15
rear axle 4.10 ratio - $2.15
transmission M21 - 4-speed - $195.00
sport tilt - $45.30
power steering - $54.80
steering quick ratio - $15.80
special instruments - $94.80
AM/FM radio - $133.80
front bumper guards - $12.65
special ducted hood - $79.80
rally sport package - $131.65
special performance package - $473.05
custom interior - $110.60
undercoating & rust proof - $40.00
These options and prices are from the dealer and were typed on their invoice on 2/24/69.

A few errors on the invoice. Most notable:
N40 Power steering MSRP was $94.80. Fast ratio steering was included with Z/28 and should not have been listed. Power front disc brakes [J52 $64.25] were a mandatory extra-cost option when ordering Z/28; not listed.

So the docs may not be original.
Post if you can.

I have photos of the original documents, which include the window sticker, warranty card, and the maintenance invoices, but I am not going to post them.

I have another friend who had bought a 427 Cobra Semi-Competition years ago and said he would bring it to our Cars & Coffee. I gave up asking him about the Cobra, only to find out that he drove it to the show one day and parked it and walked away.

There are so many replica 427 Cobras around that only one enthusiast knew my friend's Cobra was a real 427 S/C and my friend just laughed!

Gorgeous Camaro but a Cross Ram with smog and iron manifolds is like wearing flip flops with a tuxedo. ;D

Can I ask if it is a Van Nuys built car?
-
My friend's 1969 Z28 was built at the Norwood Plant and it was sold by a dealer on February 24, 1969, listed on the top of the invoice as a "Camaro Sport Coupe."
