We are looking for an original survivor car to look at the details of an original 706 interior.
This was for 1967 and it has a mix of black with yellow/gold.
Thanks in advance!

Wow, is this a new discovery ? 707 seems fairly rare, but never even heard of a 706. I now see it listed here at CRG, but didn't notice it before. My White Book doesn't mention it.

I tried to post picture of trim tag...it didn’t work,
If someone wants to PM me I will send them picture of trim tag so they can post it.

We have a few cars with it. Trying to figure out exact details. We have a pretty good idea but want verification.

Interesting color combo. I really like to see cars with unusual combos. Just can't get that nowadays.

Very interesting. I kinda like the 707, but had thought it would look better with the black replacing the gold items. From the CRG description, it sounds like that's basically what the 706 consisted of. Cool, good luck finding an original !!
Y Yellow 707
Y Yellow/Black (3) 706
-------------------
(1) Bench seat not available in convertible.
(2) Carpet, instrument panel, and steering wheel are black.
(3) An alternate yellow/black custom interior offered late in the
model year. No original examples found to date. Most lower interior
parts were black instead of 707 yellow/gold including: carpet, seat
backs, kick panels, etc.
I have a few pics of a restored 707 for those wanting to use their imagination of what a 706 looked like. :D

So is this saying only seats, door panels & decor panels were the only things that were yellow? Maybe how they did it in 1969?...Joe

The vin number that goes with the trim tag on car with 706 interior is 123677N245617 (06E build date)
Looks like last week for 67 build.

Was the dash face gold or black in this car? It's a little hard to tell for sure.

Black......seat backs are yellow
-
Just to clarify the dash is black...seat backs are yellow and door tops are painted yellow.

Here is a restored car on eBay.....it has 707 trim tag (not that it restored correctly)

Thanks for the VIN - we will add it if we don’t already have it.
Did it look like the seat was mostly yellow with a blake stripe or was the center part of the seat more white/off white?

We just updated that in the past few days.

This is believed to be an original 707 interior but the thread is for 706.
707 had a brown insert stripe.

706 is black.

I saw one at Hershey fall show years ago, didn't like it.

706 is black.
Curious if the car were a different exterior color (these examples all appear to be BY), would the interior door and extension below the quarter window still be painted yellow? I'm surprised they are not gold with 707 and black with 706. Not sure if that would help or hurt the combo any.
-
It’s my belief that “only” the yellow interior cars had the door tops painted a different color than the dash color was painted...and the interior paint trim color used on the trim tag designated the color of the door tops not the dash color.
-
The general jist is the 707 was yellow and gold. 706 was yellow and black. But no announcements to be found about the new 706 color and 707 continued to be produced.
I wordsmithed the verbage a bit:
(3) Alternate yellow/black custom interior offered late in the model

in a 707 interior: carpet, lower doors, kick panels, dash, etc.

No listing in the book for 706........

Yup, it is only noted in the parts manual. We haven't seen it any bulletins, etc.
