Title: 67 Flow Master Muffler Swap
Post by: Lakeview on January 18, 2021, 09:35:46 PM
Looking to install a Flow Master 80 Series #42582 on my 67 convertible.  It is a duel in duel out in the stock location.  Wondering if anyone has used the model.  Concerned with the noise level and tone.

Haven't used one myself. However, some will say it is a vast improvement over the OEM version on performance. Noise level? Remember, its a Flowmaster.

Not sure of the part number but my 69 BB has the flowmaster and I like it. Looks stock and not to loud in the car but you definitely know it is a Flowmaster. My other 69 has the duals under the floor, similar sound but not near as neat an appearance.

I have this muffler on my 68. I really like it. Has a nice sound at idle and  very little drone or excessive noise in the car while going down the highway. Rest of the exhaust is 2 1/2" pipe w/ h pipe and then stock exhaust manifolds. Here a clip of the car running with this muffler.

My 69 sounds really similar to the nice blue car. Get a lot of comments on the sound at cruise ins.
