Title: Painting the rad support black again
Post by: Butternut68 on January 02, 2021, 08:57:30 PM
Does anyone know what is the best black to go with when painting the rad support? I'm currently just restoring little things here and there on my 68 rs and the rad support goes from the car paint color to primer, and then to black haha, it's kinda hard to look at, so I want to paint it black again. Let me know what black would look best.

I use GM Reconditioning Black for some of the under hood parts.

I also use GM Reconditioning paint for the Rad Support and Inner Fenders.   I find it to be durable and about the right level of gloss for those components.

I hear that SEM Hot Rod Black looks good.

We used Dupont Hot Rod Black but maybe you should try to pick something that goes well with the rest of its black surroundings under the hood.

I’ve used black base and added a flattening agent to the clear urethane (I have the percentage written down somewhere) to replicate the factory sheen. It’s durable and easy to clean
