I see build dates freely thrown around all the time in discussions but what about these the four months of 68 and 69? I know you can refer to the VIN to determine which calendar year we are talking about.
But when someone mentions only 09B, for instance, I start to scratch my head and wonder what year are we talking about here?? I guess I have to determine the context of the actual subject I suppose.
Thanks!

VIN number is the easiest to determine which year. This site lists VIN sequence by month. Presence of an "X-code" is another possible option for Norwood cars, though I am not sure exactly when they started using X-codes in late 68. For example...an 09B with an X-code would point to a 1969 calendar year car. Others with way more knowledge than I can chime in on this topic.

Sometimes you will see 09B early or 09B late in reference to Norwood.
If talking about a Van Nuys car - 09B will always means EARLY as they did not produce cars past July of 69 for the 69 MY.
