Title: Carburetor Restoration
Post by: red69 on October 25, 2020, 03:31:48 PM
After 45 years of sitting on the shelf I'm going to have my 69 Z carburetor redone. Any recommendations on a shop to do the work?

I second that.  Does great work and backs up what he does.

Eric did my Holley carb, best in the business IMO. Excellent workmanship, fast turnaround, knows carbs inside-out and he’s a car guy himself.
Here’s a few photos of the restored unit set up on Eric’s test engine:

Eric did mine.  Wasn't cheap, but good usually isn't.  Would do it again in an instant.  The only issue is it looks so nice I don't want to put gas in it!

Why might the aluminum boosters also be 'gold' when originally they are plain dull aluminum?  Original gold zinc dichromate has a somewhat different look to it that in those pictures, does it not?

Here is a NOS DZ carb which has plated boosters... the photo posted above is a much later non OEM double pumper.
