I have 1968 SS with factory A/C. Does anyone know where to get a reproduction of the high density foam insulation that is found on the A/C hose going back over the compressor? its a thick black foam insulation about 2 inches long around the hose itself. It keeps the hose from vibrating against the compressor or muffler brackets.

Not sure if anyone has that reproduced, or what the hose OD is. You may have to look at using a neprene rubber hose insulation like Frost King. The original material was probably similar to the type on PS hose.

you will have to play around with their characteristics selections to drill down and find a suitable part number, pretty expensive stuff for 2"
I do not think walking the "isle" a Lowes / Home Depot will garner (A product) other than Homeowner stuff that might NOT be suitable to be over a Hot Big block Engine.

I agree - I tried some foam insulation from Lowes that looks a lot like the the part I am talking about , but it just got sticky and melted a little after a few days with it on the hose under the hood. I asked Old Air products sometime ago and they did not make a reproduction of that piece for their repro hoses. Maybe I will ask again.

You could also look around eBay for something that might fit. Here's an inexpensive one for later model GM, NFI. You'd have to ask what the ID of the sleeve is:
