Title: Caveat Emptor...tag swap?

That VIN was final-assembled on or about June 17, 1969. Body tag has a 10D date; 4th week October, 1968.

In addition, the top of the dash has been replaced, meaning the VIN tag and its original rivets were removed.

One or both tags may not be original to the car.

at least they didn,t put an X code on the body to show a big block

Good points all but the bigger picture is the mis-matched tags, including the obvious removal of the VIN tag. Whether or not the con VINs match, a DMV may have an issue with the tag being removed. Mecum notes this on auction cars.
