Post by: sixt9x33rs on August 06, 2020, 06:55:06 PM
Does anyone have experience with the above?

For car storage (double stack) and given that you have sufficient ceiling height, a 4-post if preferable... (that's about all a 4-post is good for.. )

What kind of experience are you seeking?

I've only seen one single post lift, IIRC it was made by Atlas but not for storage?

He did say single post.. but my mind interpreted that as him meaning 'two post'.. :)    The only 'single post' lifts I've ever seen were the old ones in old garages.. a single large tube in the middle of the car used for oil changes, lubes, service work underneath the car, etc...  I don't see how that one could be used for car storage.. :)

Guys this is what I was talking about.
I went ahead and bought a 4 Post lift.

Here is the single post lift. Pretty slick.

It’s not the old hydraulic underground deal.

I had looked it up. It's massively cantilevered, but it's only one-sided so it could be more flexible. You could install it at the end of the garage and drive the noses of your other cars under it.
But I'd feel more comfortable with a 2 or 4 poster. :)
