Title: 1969 Camaro AC heater lens

Sorry, but this is driving me nuts.  I have seen AC lens with blue, green and even orange paint on the bottom.  I have seen lens from Classic Industries with no paint.  I have seen lens with DEF and DE-ICE.  I have heard of green lights and green lens covers.  Does anyone know for sure.  I have no way of knowing if the lens is original or not.  There is no green lens cover over the rectangular opening.  Help?

I think the confusion is there have been many versions of this.  My Oct of 68, 69 says DE-ICE, pretty sure there was a green plastic insert in the metal, not on the lens.

Thank you for the reply Kevin.  I have pretty much concluded DE-ICE was the original, mostly because that is what is shown in the GM service manual.  I still have not found anything on an insert.  I'll continue to investigate.
