I'm installing the trans kick down, but can't decipher the AIM illustration. The 2 single leads go to the kick down switch. The other plugs appear to wire into the wiper harness. Unfortunately I can determine how/where via the AIM illustration. Does anybody have a picture or wiring diagram. Thanks

If I am not mistaken, there is a jumper harness which goes from the female side of the wiper plug you have pictured over to the washer pump connections.

I have a shot of my 68 L35/TH400 Carb Kickdown sw w/wiring and connectors, I can look for a shot of the wiring at the wiper.
My Large color laminated wiring diagram is silent w/ regards to TH400 wiring.

How the wiring/jumper ties into the wiper harness is not really clear in AIM. I could start plugging and unplugging things, but would prefer to get it right and avoid creating another problem. Thanks for the pictures. Paul

Your Harness color coding does not match my Orig.
The electrons do not care which is a good thing.
I am not sure of your level of electrical knowledge, said with respect.
Basically the Kick down switch Supplies HOT +12vdc to the sol in the side of the transmission. The switch "Gets" it Hot + 12vdc from a jumper off the wiper motor supply. So when you mash the throttle +12vdc is supplied to the kick down solenoid inside the trans opening a a small pintel valve porting hyd fluid to a lower gear hydraulic circuit.
Your connectors "look" fine but I am having trouble seeing how that will connect to your wiper motor and still supply a hot wire to your switch.
On mine the HOT wire from ie jumpered from the wiper motor +vdc is the Yellow wire & the 'Load' wire down to the solenoid is the orange wire.
I think on yours you should have a Yellow from the harness that plugs into next to the green-yellow & the double connector should plug into the wiper motor. The switch can go any order but I would go Green-yellow to the forward spade and the ?Pink? to the rear spade of the switch. You could then Jack the car up & test using a Volt Ohm Meter or Automotive Troubleshooting light & have a helper push the switch in and verify your have +12vdc at the input to the trans solenoid.

Just a update, I believe I've resolved the wiring connections. Using the wiper wiring pages in the Aim I was able to, through the process of elimination and a little sleuthing, determine the correct kick down jumper connections. I thought the Aim would be more detailed in regards to the jumper connections. Thanks for the replies as always.
