Huge multi multi million dollar car collection coming up for sale that supposedly contains 1 of 2 street version ZL-1 prototypes made. The black one with gold stripes and a ZL-1 badge in the grill. Any chance this car is real, or is it one of the clones sold over the years? The collection is very high end and contains so many rare cars, it could be real if it still exists.

Original was ordered with most of the style trim deleted and the remaining trim painted black.
Also, built with a black standard interior. Car in the video has black custom hound's-tooth.

That's Al Wallace's car, still has his old MI plate on it (thanks Mark!).
It started out as a gold LOS SS350 car - Al discussed the build at length on the nascent internet.
That's also explains why I haven't seen the car for a number of years - it was local to me for a while.

The plate appears to be MI # GT-3739, is that what you have logged? (not 100% sure, hard to read in the video)
I am a bit disappointed this is a clone. If the real car was around, this collector would have it.
Word is that 1969 ZL-1 #55 is also in the collection and a well known supercar guy is interested in buying it, which would be nice!

Yes, Charley's been trying.....

It's been a moving target.

Good luck Charley, I hope you get it.
I would travel to MCACN for that!

X2. That car is iconic, refresh my memory, is it the ONLY RS ALum 427 car?

The #68 ZL1 is also an RS. Could be the only COPO built with the DX1 stripe.
Craig Jackson has owned it for 25+ years.

Recent 300 plus car barn find showed a black/gold ZL-1. Didn't get but a quick .ok at it, but was interesting to see it in his collection.

this was at Barrett 2014
