Title: 1969 DZ Block VIN Misstamp error ? and car history
Post by: laspisa on April 09, 2020, 03:43:53 PM
Hello everyone!  First post so please excuse my ignorance but have a question.  As bizarre as we would all believe someone is selling the z28 DZ engine and transmission out of the numbers matching (well that's what I am trying to confirm...) body and frame.  It's a non X code Norwood car, that he had verified as a Z/RS when he bought it a couple years ago in Pennsylvania (?).

Anyways, the next to last digit on block VIN is a misstamp or some error.

Have you all seen this sort of thing before and/or know the history of this car.  He said that the owner had done a lot of forum research and discussion on this block and car.  I have googled to my best ability and can find no history or forum comments.  Here are the pics of stamps plus trans VIN stamp.

Thank you all very much in advance for all your time and help!  Dave
