Title: 69 Z28 overheating problem
Post by: jnave on March 26, 2020, 09:07:53 PM
I have been having a problem with my car getting really hot when outside temp is barely above 80 degrees. I have all stock cooling system equipment ie; radiator, fan, pulleys, cap. Has anyone else experienced overheating? and if so what were your solutions? I am thinking of replacing the radiator with an aluminum unit with fans. Thoughts? Thanks as always for the advice/input

What's your definition of "getting really hot"? (We need actual temperatures) If you don't have a LASER THERMOMETER (https://www.harborfreight.com/121-infrared-laser-thermometer-63985.html), get one. They come in VERY handy.

Like Ed says. It shouldn't overheat. I live in Tucson. My 302 stays at 180-190 even when it 110 outside. It too is all stock...Joe

IF when you cut off your car the clutch fan spins around more than ONE revolution your fan clutch is BAD. Kirkconnel Corvettes rebuilt mine, it sounds like a tornado moving air now.
