Title: 1st Gen Rear Drum Brake Backing plate
Post by: adamkhan on March 18, 2020, 11:55:28 PM
I'm trying to figure out if 1st Gen Rear Brake Backing plates are the same for 67-81 F-Bodies or not. GroundUpSS396 lists the above years as the same but Classic Industries & Rick's lists them only from 67-75. Any experts here who can shed more light on this please? Thanks.

I have some rusty ones :)

Seriously, do you have a 70 and newer and need to see if these will fit?

67-71 Camaro 12 bolt are the same as 68-71 chevelle 12 bolt , 10 bolt backing plates are different as they don’t have the little 1/2 moon shield spot welded on the bottom, however they will fit. FWIW I have made the shields and plug welded them on to 10 bolt backing plates before.
