Title: 1969 Camaro Heater Control Plastic lens
Post by: camaroman1969 on February 28, 2020, 09:28:29 PM
Hello everyone!!!   I have a used heater control for a 1969 Camaro, that has scratches on the lens.  At the bottom of lens, there is a stripe of "blue paint", running across the bottom.  Purchased new one, which does not have strip.  Does the strip suppose to cast a blue light from light bulb which is near this strip???  Thanks

Illumination should be green, from a clear bulb with a thin green 'film' insert. Not seen blue on a lens before, but haven't looked at many.

The blue was for a later 70's car.  The lens must have been copied from a GM service part for car with blue lighting. Use very fine wet sandpaper to remove the blue tint is my .02.

Just completed installing a AAW harness and I had the controller off. On my 1969 Z28 it was just a green plastic strip.
