Title: jl-8 brackets

How to find front JL-8 caliper brackets, it looks like every shop are discontinued

Lone Star shows them, pricey but maybe still there -

I too am looking for a set.  I contacted Lonestar a couple weeks ago , they own the JL8Brakes website but that's about it, they have no inventory.  They would have to go out and find them also.

They are out there somewhere...

Pardon my ignorance in this regard, however; are front JL8 brackets not the same as 67-68 (4piston) disc brake brackets?
IF the spindle were different, then just use a 67-68 spindle and 67-68 front calipers, whatever you are building is not a restoration, correct?
I mean you're not trying to pass whatever you are doing off as original, I am assuming... and thus hoping I am not making an arse of myself nor of you.  :-\

The '69 JL8 caliper brackets and calipers are totally different than the '67 -'68 four piston disc brake setup. The main reason is JL8 takes larger rotors.

Thank you, I did not realize the 69 JL8 system used larger rotors.
I had thought that the reason the Corvette spindles and calipers were converted over for use on the Camaro was for the larger rotors.

I noticed that D&R has them listed on their web page: they will load on the cart, maybe a source ?

It's been better than 20 years since I bought anything from them, they are apparently still around -

A word of caution. There was a bunch of early JL8 repo caliper brackets that were cheap cast pieces that broke.

The rear brackets are cast, but the front caliper brackets are stamped steel aren't they??   I thought this discussion was re the front brackets??

The first set of repro JL8 front caliper brackets made in the late eighties, early nineties were cast. They were prone to breakage as Charley says. You need to be aware of that, so you know there are different repro brackets out there.

Thanks..   I have no knowledge of repro brackets so I didn't know that..
