If a 68 Camaro came with a standard interior would it be possible if the seats would have white stripes on them? Also how many M22 transmissions did they put in 68 Camaros?

What do you mean by "white stripes"?
Also how many M22 transmissions did they put in 68 Camaros?

I'm going to look at a 68 Z28 that has been sitting since 1978 tomorrow and the seller thought the seats had " a white strip that outlines the seats" on them . How many M22,s made it into 68 Z28,s ?

a white strip that outlines the seats
In that case, no, not from the factory.
In 1968, the M22 was available for the Z28, the L78 and the L89, but I don't have a breakdown to the number that went into each.

I think some interiors in '67 had white stripes.

Yes, 67 deluxe seats had accent stripes (white or black depending on the interior color), but not 68.

Hard to prove a 68 trans is a M22 originally. Everyone says that they got one (most aren't) and the guts could have been swapped out.

Agree Kurt but what about drain at bottom which would assume might be difficult to replicate, and didn’t the m22 have a C stamp on the case.

Easy to add during a rebuild. I've seen several fake M22's over the years with that drain plug added! And the C wasn't used during the 1968 model year. It didn't show up until October 21st, 1968, early in the 1969 model year.

Send me an email. There are some things we can examine to help determine an original M22.

My 68 is an original M22 Z28. A M22 will have two “Lisle” drain plugs, M22 trans number tag and no grooves on the input shaft. As was noted earlier, 1968 did not have a “C” in date code.
