hi, was wondering if someone might what the correct marking should be on the large harmonic balancer bolt, is it L8, or ROCKFORD,
-
Rockford was an aftermarket company. I sold those when I worked at NAPA. I don't think any were used at the engine builders...Joe

hey joe, thanks fort the info.

should of mention its for a 69 Z/28 302 I was referring to.

Here you go - marked "TR", thick washer, thin star washer - bolt was drilled for safety wire retention. They are a little hard to find nowadays,, but do pop up occasionally. Keep your eyes peeled -

Just out of curiosity, what did the center bolt wire across to as is the only bolt I see drilled out of the 4 on the lower pulley?
-
I wondered what it wired to also. Mine is drilled
-
The original assemblies I have seen consist of a grade 8 bolt that is clear zinc plated, typically with a TR head marking, and a single through-hole in the bolt head, followed by a star washer also clear zinc plated, then a special thick washer that is natural steel (unpainted and unplated). The 3 bolts that hold the crankshaft pulley to the balancer are manganese phosphated.

Hate to assume, racing prep might include safety wiring to the other three, after they were either drilled or replaced with drilled bolts. Makes sense -

Just seemed odd to me. Center bolt is drilled, but the other three were never drilled from the factory? Like it was being considered at one point, but later abandoned.
One of those things that makes you wonder what was or could have been? :P
