So is 10-24-68 a good known date for YH Rally wheels? I thought that would be the AD wheel time frame? If it is, were the wheels being transitioned from AD to YH by 11A Nov 68?
-
Jimmy V... Do you have a photo of the codes on the wheel you are asking about? I don't think I've seen one that early but... none of us have seen *everything*.... :)
-
Could be a calendar year 69 YH wheel.
10-24-68 is an AD wheel.
-
In an ad for a 69 RS/Z. Maybe the wheels are AD, and advertiser listed as YH by mistake? Ad says YH wheels are dated 10-24-8? Asking price = 160K. Car is RS/Z, 11A 1968 with a crossram, etc.
-
8s and 9s are the two most easily confused stamped numbers...
-
If it's 10-24-9 then wheels are not original to the car.
-
The wheels would not be date configured as the car is advertised.
there would be a
K-1-8 10 (valvestem hole) 24 AD
K-1-9 10 (valvestem hole) 24 YH
If they are AD's they are 1968 manufactured wheels -
If they are YH's they are 1969 manufactured wheels in which case they would be on a car produced in the last week - week and a half of production

I have a 1968 September built 1969 Z28. The code for the wheels I have are K 1-8 9 20 AD.
Hope this helps with the discussion.

My 10B early L.A. car came with 3 AD wheels dated 8-20

I'm assuming late Sep? After 9/20. Same date as my 10B Oct Z.

Yes late date. LOS build.
