This Steering box originated on a 1968 Chevelle. This hose bracket was on it when I removed it from the Chevelle. It had the correect date code so I had it rebuilt to Camaro specs.. They reistalled the bracket after they rebuilt it. Did Camaros have that bracket on it or was it specific to a 1968 Chevelle? Thanks

Camaro’s had them as well

If you check out the AIM, UPC N40, Sheet A6, there's a notation that the clip is "part of the (steering) gear assembly". This means it came from Saginaw with the clip already attached and there's no separate part number for it, nor was it available in service.

I'll try and determine the original finish, clean it up and reinstall it. Thanks for the replies
Bert,
You must have that assembly manual memorized. Mine is frayed, covers missing, pages curled and I still get cross eyed looking through it. Thanks for the info

Is that a L6, V8, 396 kinda thing? as in Certain hose arrangements required this clip or did not require this clip? I think it was parts of the steering unit and NOT separately installed.

No, all cars that came with RPO N40 came with the clip.
