I sent my May '69 Z28/RS brake booster out to Steve G. for re-plating. It had two round paint marks on the upper face, one white one yellow. I have not been able to find a photo of any other booster with these paint marks to confirm they should be repainted. Any thoughts?

I am a graffiti enthusiast (Joking), but only if you have pics of the as found condition, then you get into the plant to plant differences, then the what was normally found. Many ways (Directions) to go on this.
a) Put the paint marks back on & have your photos as evidence it existed prior,
b) Bolt it on as is and keep to the reasonable replication of graffiti as documented by survivors & as accepted restoration practices and judging stds.
I vote for leave it off in this case

I've only ever seen a very small light blue dot and or dab at the very top (Inspection Mark)

Sorry, no disrespect in not replying sooner, I have been out for work the last several weeks.
Attached you will see a white round mark on the top, and a yellow round mark to the right. This booster was re-plated once before but it appears there was a master cylinder leak at some point after plating. Not sure what the previous owner was attempting to replicate? All other chalk marks and stampings seem to be very correct.
Unless someone tells me these marks are some very special, long lost one of a kind...….. I will not put them back.

I just finished cleaning up the original booster in my car. It had some surface rust that I knocked off using a brass brush and some rust remover. As seen top center, it has the blue paint mark which is still intact. I was careful not to disturb the paint mark and will leave it as it as shown. Picture for reference.

my late (08C) unrestored booster has a white inspection mark at about the 11 o'clock position

Anyone know where you can get the rubber seal that goes between the master cylinder and the booster?

It might be interesting to hear what Steve Grigori would say about 'paint marks' on unrestored GM boosters that are sent to him for restoration....?

Looks like it was already replated, marks may not be original?

I ran across a photo of the unrestored 9204 brake booster from my former 1969 Norwood 4C RS/Z that shows a similar paint mark to the one in the photo of Graeme's (GreenNV) 10E Norwood Z (reply #5).
