Title: 1968 Camaro Distributor and Vacuum Advance Pod
Post by: gwp4 on December 10, 2019, 06:17:20 AM
Hi Folks -

I've got a 1968 Camaro 327/210 SB no ac 3spd and am looking for an original AC Delco 1111440 distributor and the factory correct AC Delco Vacuum Advance Pod.  Unfortunately, I can't locate the GM part number on the pod or the correct page in the FAIM where it might be located.  Any Camaro experts have the info?  Many thanks.  gwp4

It won't be in the AIM because it came with the distributor.
part # 1115355
Personally, I wouldn't sweat finding an original - more important to get one that works.

I completely agree with Kurt. The original vacuum advance units were horrible for performance. Great for smog control, but horrible for performance. Read THIS (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=11088.0;all) a list of for part numbers on a vacuum advance that works MUCH better in these engines.

However, if you're restoring the car for show and will never drive it, then get the 355 can.

Hi -

I'm looking for a date code in the March/April/May 1968 time frame.  I hope you can help me out.  Many thanks.

I didn’t find any 327/210 hp distributors, but I did find several 327/275 hp distributors.
