Spotted this one, wondered if it was a known car. Good looking color combo even if it's a clone - tag rivets look very new.

Car looks nice.....however I have never seen a vin tag on a 67 hinge pillar that far out of kilter?
Maybe vin tag was reattached to a new body? Anybody else think that?

I was wondering the same thing. I thought those holes were pre-punched by Fisher, but maybe I'm wrong.

Looking at UPC 0 Sheet B2 of the 67 AIM it appears that yes, the VIN plate holes were pre-punched into the door pillar. No drilling instructions shown on that sheet, just the pillar with holes, rivets, and plate.

All of the ones I have looked at seem to be all a little of kilter (however all seem consistently out of plumb in the same manner) this one just looks more then normal of kilter.
-
If you were attaching the vin to a NEW body, I would think the last thing you would want to do would be attach it out of kilter and draw attention to it. If you were doing a rebody the hole would already be there from GM.

The letter L in 4L looks sort of odd. The bottom of the L looks extended. Maybe it's just the way light is reflecting off of it.

A potential buyer just contacted me about this car this morning. I have almost 230 cars in the registry now, this car is not in the registry. Not the best photo of the trim tag but I will say that it does have issues. The L's are also not correct.

Well....someone just bought it.........

Well I hope it’s not a clone.....It’s way too much for a clone!

Well the trunk emblem location is terrible, lid might be a later D80 lid with the holes filled. And the antennae looks a little out of place also. Site was moving too slow to take a real good look.
