Can someone give me actual dimensions of the stock driveshaft and the depth of the front yoke in the Muncie. Our '69 Z28 was a drag race car, we think. The driveshaft is 3-1/2" in diameter and seems the front yoke is shallow in its position in the Muncie. Last night I couldn't find a spec in the AIM.

Yes please see the report, contact me direct if you have more questions.
You will have to check/measure how far the yoke goes into the tail shaft. You won’t be able to tell just visually by looking at it, because yokes vary in length.

Thank you, gentlemen. I failed to use the search function here effectively. But is the length of 49.56" from center line of the U-Joints?
I think a buzz/vibration I have at any cruising speed is directly attributable to either the seemingly shallow penetration of the yoke into the tailshaft or a need for slightly more pinion angle. There was a significant vibration prior to replacing the entire rear yoke and balancing the assembly. Additionally, I found that the pinion angle was off by a minimum of 4*. I used 4* wedges to bring the pinion angle into spec and have 6* wedges to add another 2* before I go order a replacement shaft.

Some of those reports are a little more difficult to find than just using the search function. Yes, the measurement is center to center of the u joints.

In removing the old rear shaft yoke and welding in the new one, we lost 1/4" in total length which should not make a difference. However the exposed input yoke measures 2-1/2" from tailshaft to front of yoke.

Everyone should start at the main page if they have questions, then click on sections of interest. Lots and lots of stuff to go through.

I can't disagree that people "should" do that, but sometimes people find a web page like CRG by searching for a specific answer. That will likely put them on the forum first. That becomes your short cut and where you go to search. Not bitching, just an observation from my point of view.

The forum is an important part of CRG, but only a small part of the whole CRG thing. Thousands of hours were spent on collecting and organizing the information, writing reports and then putting it on the main page with links.
Other Camaro sites have most of their information buried in their forums. That's not so here. I wish more people realized that.
