Hopefully next year! I know Iíve been saying that for a while, but I hope my schedule will be a little less hectic. My daughter is playing volleyball for Molloy College, division 2, and my sons band has been touring opening for Trace Adkins on Long Island, and the Marshall Tucker Band in Kentucky! Fingers crossed. Please, whoever is going, post lots of pictures. Wish I was going!

Joe, what car are u bringing? We will arrive Thursday around noon per time slot. Maybe we could have a time to meet on Saturday for at least a hello. Many of you know Skipís orange 69Z survivor and we could meet at his car at 12 noon. Both his car and ours are to be in a class of 69 survivors. Our Nova will be the green L78 with original Ammon R Smith front plate and PA 69 rear tag.

I'll be there this year just to check out the show and meet up with a few others while appreciating the cars. We're at the Hilton and I'll likely be the guy walking the show with a black Klim mid layer jacket worn over a white Harley t-shirt. If the jacket is off, I have a full sleeve tattoo on my right arm. I was going to suggest you look for the grey haired guy, but that would have you looking in circles. (LOL)

Warrens car sounds like the fan favorite. It seems like he had been collecting parts for the cross ram for years. Hopefully someone can post multiple pics of it.
Maybe Warren can start a thread just for that car with the history.

Good to see you chime in James, thought you were buried in your shop... :)

I have been buried alive, although this year I made the Camaro Nationals, the NCRS nationals, NCRS Ohio Regionals and NCRS chapter meet in Atlanta. Along with Charlotte Speedway spring and fall - damn I thought I had been stuck at home ALL YEAR!

I have been painting a Hugger Orange COPO, getting ready for a Fathom Green 69 Z for paint, and correcting some paint issues on a LT1 Corvette as well as finishing the 73 RS LT Z28 PLUS steadily correcting the last 1-2% I can get out of my LT1 so I can get my DUNTOV award.

The pilot 69 Z of Larry's... too many cars to note...
The 67 L88 corvettes...
The 69 Z trans Am race car that Jeff has been restoring. WOW

Iíll add them here tomorrow. I spent today trying to get caught up on work I didnít get done while at MCACN.  I met a lot of guys from the forums and made some new friends.  Even one special member gave me a warm welcome of giving me the hand gesture that I was ďnumber 1Ē.   ;D. James sorry I missed you.  If I wasnít standing around my buddies original paint 69 L78 blk Nova, HO & DY COPOís in the Day 2 section then I was in the vintage cert area taking photos and talking to owners. Also met your buddy Rich (RichSS2006).  Very cool and nice guy and his buddy which his name now escapes me..  Sorry.  Met many members and all that I talked to were really great guys.  Thanks for taking the few minutes and bsíing with me.  I appreciated it.  Warrenís Z and Chickís Nova were both unbelievable and original paint cars.

It was a fun show. Great to see such original cars and friends from all over. Darrell walked away from Warren's car cause he thought it was a repaint, the paint is that nice!
The show is big and you have to figure out how you are going to see it. I never saw half of it cause I decided I'd rather talk and learn than cruise the show. About 5-6pm, the crowds left and that made it much easier to see more of the cars, but I never saw the 67 L88's, nor James!

I had several people I wanted to meet while I was making my first visit to this show. I was able to meet about 1/2 of those & that was on Thursday & Friday. Saturday was impossible & had to be at the airport Sunday morning. Show was awesome. Swap meet had some interesting items for sale but not many.
I will return next year for sure. I hope to have the y/y 396 car done to take. It will be expensive to take it but I will try to do it once....Joe

Yeah, I hope Warren takes that as a compliment and not an insult..  When I was making my rounds on Friday before the boards were up and the car was sitting there I walked up to it and thought,  "Oh nice restored car" and kept walking towards the vintage cert area.  Later when I ran into Kurt, I realized it was Warren's car and it was actually original paint!!  The black and silver were extremely nice.  I was blown away.  Benny's 69 white L78 was really cool to see with some neat little options and quirks about it and also the LB 69 L78 car was really nice as well (sorry I met the owner but I can not remember his name, super nice guy).  Thanks again to Chick for helping out with getting me one of the parts I have needed for a looooong time.  Great show, Friday was pretty chaotic but by the end of the day and start of Saturday it was a different story.  I had a blast.

I did take a few... I was with Dave Beem and he crawled over the rails and was looking all over the car, I don't know Jeff and there were so many people straining to look I didn't want others to take me crawling over as an invitation...

I have this show on my bucket list. I am waiting for Gary to get his 69Z ready for it though...😁 My unrestored 69Z is only a few hours away from there, let me know when you're ready Gary.

Actually I still need to meet up with Bentley for the tail pipes, and locate a few items. (rear shocks, battery cable, battery, hood insulation)

I would love to see Skips car up close, or Warrens for that matter. Looks like many unrestored vehicles to awe over. (Love the pics on that yenko thread)

I tried to get more of that Trans AM car but there was too many people around it on Saturday, but did get an under the hood shot. I was back to get more but was interrupted and that dragged me away with another visit. I got a host of shots of Warren's car and a couple of Skip's as well as many others. What a GREAT Show.  Some Many spectacular rides to see.  A two day visit really helps with photos on the latter day w/ the crowds. I sure enjoyed the Orange prototype car presentations w/ Larry. Saw John M & Chick, but would a table sign (DoubleTree) at the meet & greet be  a nice ice breaker location?
There is just so much going on and to do in a short time.

Here is  a side shot of the 69'

JIM Weaver
* as a side note we made a trip into town for the Fields natural history museum and was amazed at T-REX "SUE" exhibit and matching Prime rib steak downtown at Millers Pub on Wabash.

This doesn't surprise me, I can see the same happening to myself,,,I attribute it to not being one of the "good 'ole boys" with a super fat wallet,
I have been to trade shows in other hobbies and its the same,,you can be a top tier collector and know more than the average joe, but unless you flap your gums and have a lot of cash
no one seems to notice you

What I see in the pics of MCACN are a bunch of wealthy guys and their toys, "look at me" "I'm a millionaire and can afford this ultra rare COPO or Nicky Camaro"
and they set up a little lawn chair and hang out. I imagine more than half of them have never turned a wrench on their own car....

Show me a guy who RESEARCHED, BUILT, and MAINTAINS said car, then we can talk.
This is just my observation.....maybe when I attend it will be different

Joe has a great build going. I am not super wealthy, but was fortunate to sell some property and purchase my unrestored car. I wrench on my drivers to keep them on the road. If guys work hard enough to purchase nice cars already done, good for them. We all come from different walks of life, and have different skills that got us to where we are, and what we have. I am just glad guys are healthy enough to make it to car show that always takes place after winter begins.

Anyone can express an opinion on an internet forum..... but you've just insulted many good people over at sYc (where you post, and seem happy to buy parts from those same members) based purely on your assessment of a few photos?

Ha, I knew it. Following these meticulously documented, upper tier builds. All a trick to suck in the poor people, with their 60-100k cars, and make fun of them😢
Probably lighting cigars with 100 dollar bills! For shame.

Been around this car stuff pretty much my whole life, prefer the drags, but anywhere I've been, get a kick out of the enthusiasm. Seen the guy with the double stacker help the guy with the open flat trailer...

Key in on appreciation for attention to detail, workmanship👍

I have resisted a reply because I donít want to jump in the fray. A lot of hurtful opinion. Hopefully the attitude will change once one attends the show, as suggested. My 1st time was this show. I certainly donít have $$$. But one thing I have learned from attending this and the SCRís in Bowling Green, KY., is that egos are put away and if you share the same passion and yearn for knowledge as the ones with the enviable stuff, many a friend can be made in the hobby. Personally, I have made many friends and earned respect as factual a contributor.

I am thankful for wealthy guys. Sure I would like to have a copo or Z or something that I feel I am priced out of the market. I think, if it is meant to be, aka,  a blind hog finding an acorn, which someday I hope is the case with me and that certain car falls into my lap. But when I think of a car, like the Ken Stoddard Trans-Am 69Z, I am so glad it fell into the hands of someone capable of doing a correct restoration and the justice done to that car which a fella of average means could never attain. The important thing is, someone wealthy and capable saved that car from certain death. For that and the countless other cars that have fell among prodigious caretakers, I say thank you.

Thanks for the insults Niblet. Since I never heard back from you on the 67 hood I drug out of storage and took pictures of that you were interested in buying I finally put it back away. After the insult I'm really sorry I wasted my time. I learned alot from your post.

Insults? hows my opinion about MACAN insult you?
how is it a guy can wear a CRG t shirt and not one person ask him about it?
anyway...it doesnt matter....about the hood
As a buyer I dont have time to fool around with Uship or other such nonsense for a part that I dont need, but wouldnt mind having. As a buyer I pay money and the item arrives at my door. I f you would have had the inclination to ship it
and give me a reasonable total all inclusive,,maybe we could have completed the deal. I dont arrange shipping for my purchases,,Thats part of the sellers duties

Niblet,
Well you can start with many but heck start with me as I with the help of a couple special friends restored our 68z to a great level and have tried to share the info and have answered many emails and PMís along with a build thread that has accumulated over a half million hits. Other words, help as others have helped me and I work on my cars. At car events more times than not no one has an idea of who is loaded or in some particular dollar category and luckily most of us do not care. What we care about is the hobby and it contains people from all walks of life that share a common interest. A real shame youíve never had that opportunity to experience but hopefully you will.

You asked for pics to show on you ship. I got the hood down and sent pics and that was the last I heard from you.. total waste of my time but no big deal for you. You have never been to MCACN but feel like you need to trash the people that go thru the time and expense to share their cars. As a owner of MCACN and a participant I can assure you that you have insulted many. MCACN is probably not the place for you.

Niblet: MCACN is inclusive of all brands, and includes barn finds to concours restorations. No one has their wealth/assets listed on their forehead. Opinions should be formed by firsthand experience not a few photos. The show offers a wealth of information, in fact the silver JL8 Z28 pictured in this thread has components and a literature display never seen by most. Car people are car people, and everyone at the show was willing to help/share information from historians, restorers and enthusiast a like. Your initial post was an offensive blanket statement, which I thought after reflecting you might have had second thoughts about posting. Your second post however was more of the same....

Danny although no one recognized your CRG shirt, your 68 Z28 caught a lot of attention at MCACN a few years back. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a happy and healthy 2020.

Looking forward to another great 2020 MCACN show. Always great catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

I was there for four days. Saw quite a few people from the CRG forum including several that I had not met in person before. Never saw a person with a CRG shirt on. I think if you just go up to a car owner and ask them about their car you will hear some great stories, learn something, and find yourself having a good time. The more often you go, the more people you will meet and the more fun it becomes.

I did ask for pics to put in the add, howevert there was no way I was going to purchase an item like that without seeing pics before the money was spent anyway so its a moot point
why the pics were requested. I initially was thinking about doin the Uship thing, got busy at work and the idea lost traction.
I just don't have time to mess with it. I probably would have had 1400 dollars into that thing by the time I paid for crating and shipping
so I apologize for wasting your time to dig it out

I got to meet Danny the year he had his Z at the show and have no idea what shirt he had on lol.
I have met some real nice helpful people at car events and they are now friends for life. Most were from my trip to MCACN.  Several have been helpful in the restoration of my Z.

Note, I wasn't complaining. I was just kinda surprised that I could walk around the whole show for hours and hours for 2 days, with just the shirt on, no jacket... and not one person came up and said,"Hey CRG, cool, which member are you". Or a similar statement. Not a big deal, it's not like it ruined my trip, just say'in... Danny

I know for a fact that the show gets cars from owners with varying wealth. No matter how much money is in your pocket, if you are a true car guy - thatís all that matters.

Often when words are just read on a screen - there can be some misinterpretation. Letís all try to stay civil.

Maybe 2020 will be the year I can attend. I hope so. Seems like an awesome venue to see great cars and great people.

My 68 is just a POS old drag car (L78 originally shipped to Dick Fencl Chevrolet in one of the Chicago suburbs, Oak Park, IL) that nobody would want to see. But the 67 *might* be, depending on which way we ultimately go with the restoration. I was able to get some background history on it from the son of the original owner (he passed away a few years ago) and the original owners buddy. The car was in the Quad Cities area itís whole life (off the road much of the time since the early 70s) until I bought it.

Wish I could have made the show, the pictures are always amazing to see all the various cars that show up. I hope to try and save some vacation time to be able to make it next year. Would love to someday drag the 68 all the way there to show it. Maybe if they ever decided to do a L30/M20 display.

I hope someone took a photo of Jeff Makovich's 69 TA car...  I sold him a set of ARE magnesium wheels that I'd had for 35 yrs (which came off Bob Christiansen's 69 z28 TA car) so I'm hoping to see them put to good use.. :)

I didn't take this shot. It was posted by someone who posted a link on the Yenko site. I believe photo credit goes to Ryan Brutt. Here's the 69 T/A car.

I can assure you there is no ďgood ole boys clubĒ here.  One of the few places where this isnít the case.  I have made many friends here, many I have met in person and still more that Iíve never met. Personally itís your attitude and your posts that have people not wanting to be friendly towards you.  Attract more flies with honey than vinegar.

I kind of feel sorry for you guy. Ever since you joined this site, youíve had that proverbial chip on your shoulder. I have met some pretty wealthy guys on here. And some poor schmucks, that are much,  like myself. But when we get together, all that matters is that we have a common passion for cars. I have never felt looked down upon. In fact Iím equal with my peers. No one is out to prove anything or rub their good fortune in my face. If that was the case, would we all look so forward to seeing each other at these events?  I donít know about all guys, but I cherish the relationships I have made with these fellas. Yes, to the point that I made that shirt, not to draw undue attention to myself, but that fellas that have never met me in person and I have never had the pleasure to have met many of them, as well, could find me so that my hopes were that I would not leave without meeting all I wanted. Sadly, I did not. But I will try, again, next year. Does that sound like a bunch of guys to avoid, I ask? Yep, cars are drool worthy, fellas that I meet are priceless treasures. I only pray you soften your hard heart so as to see the value of good relationships

I have no knowledge about why you were banned there, but don't bring the fight onto this forum - check that baggage at the door. :)
Thanks.
