Title: '67 (327/275) smog tubes, ...A/C vs. non-A/C
Post by: KevinK on March 14, 2007, 06:16:59 PM
Are the smog tubes the same for a car that came with A/C as they would be for a car withOUT A/C? ...IF they are different, ...what is the difference? (IF different, ...I assume it would be due to the compressor...)

   ...car in question is a CA '67 327/275hp with A/C (w/smog)

  Thanks,
                          Kevin

Kevin,
My answer, I think so.  I know what they look like with A/C (My L48 has AIR and A/C), not positive on the without.  I can send you a picture of the tubes and manifolds from my car if you would like.

Dan,
If you could post a photo(s), ...that would be great. I do still have the original tubes off my car, ...however they've been 'modified/fixed' so they're tough to go by (the driver's side isn't bad though).
The ideal situation would be to see pics of tubes for A/C and non-A/C to do a comparison...
Since I'm not in a big rush, ...I'll be checking around Carlisle this summer ;)

  Thanks,
                Kevin

...I'm still not sure about the smog tubes, ... A/C vs. non-A/C, ...however at least I'm glad to see the tubes from my car (L30 w/AC) and Dan's car (L48 w/AC) do appear to match up. I'll continue to follow up on this, but thought I'd post these pics so far.

Here is a photo of the smog tubes from my '67:
Note: Top is the PASS side tube, ...bottom is the DRIVER side (and yes they have had 'attempted' repairs of years ago, ...that brazing looks like bubble gum...)

Here are the manifolds from my '67. It's doesn't have AC. I prefer to keep this vintage smog equipment in a box in the garage.  ;)
