Title: 67 trim tag codes
Post by: LSGsince76 on September 10, 2019, 10:57:11 AM
I have a 67 rs in Carolina Blue with  - 080D at the bottom of the tag. I was told years ago that the (-) was a change in stripe color, my stripe is Black, and blue cars had white.  I was told the 080D was some type of fleet code but none other were known at that time. ( around 2000 ).
Is there any one out there with any knowledge of fleet codes?
Thanks
LSG

Hi Cliff!
-080D is the plant reference code for the F&SO. Basically tells the plant to refer to #80 Special Order for the instructions.  At that point of production, there had been 80 special order instructions created. Some may only have 1 car produced, some had many cars produced under that SO.
A twin of your car was found a few years ago, sitting in a field. Undoubtedly ordered by the same dealer.
The - is not related to the stripe.

Kurt
Thanks so much for the information
Do you know of any way I could track the car in the field down?
Thanks again
Cliff

The person hasn't been active for a number of years, but I just sent him a note.

I saw this car on one like it 2-3 years ago t the Delaware camaro car show.  I spoke to the man who said it was for sale.  Pics may be on the website
