I believe so. Also, it has what appears to be an office/man cave in the back.

Garage somewhere around Scottsdale ? I was there earlier this year, sure looks familiar. Surprised at the monsoon - place is awfully dry (but great for sheet metal !). Nice layout - I'd be proud of it.

Yes, they were the common fuels in New Mexico, and I found the Conoco sign in a small town where the original gas station and pole that held the sign is there! Probably from the 50's   I'm always looking for hidden treasures on my road trips.

Yes that is my hot rod 65 Riviera. Garage is designed to hold 5 cars on the floor easily but I could probably squeeze 8 in with GoJacks. Also wired for car lifts and 11'4" ceiling. Plan was to put a side by side two car lift in the back.

Our polishing process consists of seven basic steps of mechanical grinding and polishing. Depending on the current condition of the floor, the process may require more steps, or even less. The first three steps prepare the floor by flattening and leveling it using metal bond diamond grindings. These steps are crucial to ensure proper finishing and safety standards. The last four steps use resin bond diamonds for polishings. These steps seal the floor and polish it to a matte, satin or glossy finish. Yezco’s VOC compliant polishing method brings out the natural strength and beauty of the concrete—without harming the environment.

I think it is just really really polished. I have never had a coating hold up.
Title: Re: Nice garages
Post by: 69Z28-RS on November 27, 2019, 02:53:27 PM
A lot of people report they haven't had finishes hold up (generally talking about epoxy paints), but my experience is the opposite.  I've finished around 5000 sf of garage space (4 different garage spaces) with two different kinds of epoxy (most recently the Rustoleum Professional Epoxy) over the last 17-18 years and the only spot I've had that suffered damage was from acid that leaked from a battery in a corvette I'd purchased.   I think the variability factor in my experience versus that of others is the *preparation* and following directions.   One cannot just 'apply' the epoxy and expect it to work.  In my situations, I've let new concrete 'cure' for a few months, followed by thorough cleaning, followed by acid etching, followed by more thorough cleaning, and then *sufficient drying* before the application of the epoxy.   After application, one needs to wait for the epoxy to cure before driving on it.  I love the epoxy because it cleans up so easily after any spill and is also easy to keep clean.

I like the looks of your 'polished' floor but I'm curious if the 'polished surface' also resists liquids (oils, etc) from soaking into it??   And is it 'slippery' when wet?  I've learned thru experience to put a little 'sand' in the epoxy paint to overcome the slippery when wet problem.
Title: Re: Nice garages
Post by: Charley on November 27, 2019, 07:16:41 PM
My shop at home has a 3 part epoxy system on it that was guaranteed against all chemicals except maybe brake fluid left on it for a extended period of time. This was the second coating the company had done. First one was a Urethane coating that the parent chemical company screwed up the mixture and it failed instantly. They paid the contractor to buy a diamond grinder to grind the entire floor and then do the 3 part epoxy. Been about 10 years now and stuff like trans fluid, gasoline etc now stains it. Hot tires also lift it. Company is no longer in business.
Title: Re: Nice garages
Post by: Kelley W King on November 27, 2019, 08:50:35 PM
I used the Rustolium stuff and like Gary said I cleaned and tried out my new gas furnace drying and heating it for a couple days. I almost passed out putting it down the garage was so hot. Left the heat on it for a couple more days to cure. Trans fluid and oil or hot tires have not been a problem. It is a pain to clean since I used the color flakes. It was new concrete by the way.

More info from the site that finished the floor.

Dense, polished surface helps protect against absorption of oil and other contaminants• Resists tire marks from fork trucks and other traffic• Harder and stronger than other floor finishes
• 40% more abrasion resistant than unfinished concrete • 20% increase in impact resistance than unfinished concrete• 30% increase in ambient light reflection from unfinished concrete• Flatter, more level surface
• OSHA recommends that you achieve a static coefficient of friction (SCOF) of 0.5 for
polished surfaces - HTC Superfloor™ SCOF wet: .50 and dry: .58
• Easily add color to existing concrete during the HTC Superfloor™ process

The other cool trick is to blend in some colored glass in the top layer of concrete. Then grind and polish. Not sure I'd do it for a garage, but great for an entryway. Looks really notable and different.

I think it is just under 2 acres. Desert with three washes going around my house so plenty of wildlife. My Arlo cameras regularly film Bobcats, deer, Raccoons, Coyote's, Javelina, Scorpions, Snakes and even a Tarantula.

Scottsdale Az. That Bobcat was just sitting there watching a guy plant a Saguaro that I had bought for the front yard. Just looked at me when I took the pic. Most of the creatures come out at night and the Arlo cams get them with night vision.

Javelina are very dangerous & they stink. We had 12 of them sleeping in the shade on our back porch last summer. They had young ones with them. I had to educate my grandson on them because he loves animals. He had to stay in the house for the entire day as they moved to the other side on the house after noon...Joe
