EO8A ??
I know transmissions are stamped for model year. But, how would they have known in May of 1969 that this was going into an August 69 car that would meet the 1970 model year standards?
I know gas tanks were dated for the 1970 model year starting in August 1969. Have not seen any transmissions stamped this way.

If it is a May 8 trans (which is really possible... lots of May parts on Aug cars) shouldn't it be P9E08A ???

It appears the last two digits of the VIN, have been stamped over the P9 part of assembly stamp.

Car exists - 396 car, apart last I knew.
Trans has been bouncing around, was on ebay back in 2013.
