Title: 1969 rear side marker lights
Post by: ko-lek-tor on April 19, 2019, 01:24:52 AM
On the rear side marker lights, is there a gasket on the outer side under the chrome bezel? And, a foam gasket on the inside? Anyone have a picture of the assembly apart showing the order of assembly, like an exploded diagram?

Bentley. Here's a picture of a car that has 12k original miles. I would say it's correct....Joe

There is no gasket under the chrome bezel. The gasket is on the sidelight side and gets pressed against the inside of quarter panel.

Part number should be 3945721. Only one gasket listed. As Warren indicated, between the light & the inner rear fender. None used on the front...Joe

Here's a picture of the compressed gasket after the light was removed on my LOS car, showing the gasket wasn't installed parallel to the stamped hole in the quarter - just like in Joe's picture.

Much thanks amigos. I had forgot exactly, or unsure enough, that when asked by another fella restoring his car, I could not give a concise answer, nor find a picture. Thanks, again.
