Does anybody know how long an original J-hook spare tire hold down for a convertible is? part# 3841841

I can get the hook from my 67 conv. this evening and take pictures and measurements.

That would be great! Thanks Mike

Sorry for the late reply. I now keep my car at my daughters house and haven't had the time to get there for a few days. Attached are pictures of the j-hook from the 67 04B LOS coupe (left- short & straight) and 67 05B NOR convertible (right- long and curved) for comparison. I re-plated the convertible hook during restoration and you can see the difference between what looks like original (and aged) cadmium plated on the coupe against a bright zinc plated finish.
The hook size for the convertible is 8" from tip to base edge as seen in the photo.

Thanks Mike.....I thought the original ones where black phosphate.
I never knew they where zinc plated.
I have been looking for the wrong part all this time.

I would not be surprised if the hooks came with either plating. I can only speculate both finishes were acceptable from multiple suppliers.
