Title: Tonawanda Engine Plant Memorabilia
Post by: 68 Ragtop on March 30, 2019, 02:06:15 PM
I was at an estate sale the other day near the engine plant in Tonawanda NY. It was obviously a retired employee from the plant. Tons of plant memorabilia and some machine tools. This is not the first estate sale I have run across in the are with Tonawanda or Harrison memorabilia. There are a lot of retirees here.

I picked up a plaque just like this one, but passed on a lot of other stuff. Do you think this kind of stuff has a high value? Any thing high value I should look for in the future?

Also a key chain like this, that says 50 years on the other side. Chevrolet was founded in 1911, so it may be from 1961?

I doubt it has much value.  Cool stuff though.

Also picked up a box of miscellaneous cutting tools dirt cheap. Found some number and letter stamps in there. Not sure if they are the ones used for engine pad stamping, but you never know.

If they were with a gangholder, that would be neat.. :)   what size are the stamps?

No gang holder. It was an assortment of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" stamps. Not a complete set by any means.

I am sure there are guys around here that have the actual line stamps used on engines at the plant. I don't think the ones I bought are from the line. More like from the machine shop.
