Post by: hihorse on February 15, 2019, 01:03:39 PM
What are the typical dates for 1100837 alternators found on 1969  L78 Camaros with 2D build date? also dates for waterpump, intake, smog pump, distributor, heads and block

Much of what you need is also used by early COPOs. Tough to find.
Carb and alternator were added at the car assembly plants so dates differ.
02D at Norwood spanned about 14,000 cars so there’s early/late for the 837.
9A2 9A14 9A23…9B19. The latter is correct for many COPOs so don’t expect to find one cheap.
02D at Van Nuys: 8L9  8L23
Only carb date I have is 913 at Norwood.

Early 02D; final-assembled on or about Feb 24. Close to the earliest 9B19.

William,
Great, I  have the 9B19 but thought it was too late for 2D...carb is original to car and is dated 913, your info is bang on. What dates should the other stuff have?

Very little L78 data from that time; A21 heads Jan 25 intake.
