Title: Looking...
Post by: bobs69z on January 28, 2019, 10:39:51 PM
New to CRG, but not to Camaros.  What happened to the days you could trust someone and buy a real Z?  Ive been looking for another nice Z.  But there always seems to be something awry, or to good to be true.  Currently looking on Ebay at a Dover white Z with orange houndstooth interior.  Supposedly 1 of 3.  Cowl tag matches description.  Anyone seen it?   If anyone has any leads, let me know.......Thanks

Search the VIN, Been discussed multiple times. X2 on the money and greed! There are more 69 Z's now than there were in 69!
Doc.

1973. $1600.00 got you a real one then, original paint and all.

Things certainly have de-escalated from then. Everything can be faked or recreated nowadays, even VIN tags and P-O-P's. Keep up hope - real cars are still out there waiting to be discovered and transferred to a new owner. Check your local Craig's List ads occasionally - you never know when one will pop up. My '68 Z and Z11 came from ads in the local Trader's Post in the '90's -

Regards,
Steve

The white '69 z28 with orange houndstooth sounds like the one I saw at the VOLO museum/sales in Volo, Ill a couple of weeks ago (and I'm sure glad we went up there THEN and not now!  :)

Is this the same car, or have you found another white/orangehoundstooth z28??

It or one of them was for sale in Florida a while back. I think there was a Utube thing on it.

Lots of real cars out there. And frustrated sellers that can't find a buyer. Keep looking....

about half a dozen real 69 Z cars just went through the Barrel Jackson auction, and all for decent money.
Even if you know what to look for have a second set of knowledgable eyes look at a 69Z, protect that money you worked hard for.
Be patient, and you will find the right car for yourself.

Thanks everyone for the reply's. Yes, its the Z listed at Volo Motors.  I did a search and saw some of the reviews.  I've got my eye on a couple more.  Keep you posted if anything pans out. Not looking for anymore projects.  I've done enough of those.  Looking for a nice, mostly original driver.   This is a Great site!!  I appreciate the comments and all the work and research put into this site.  Bob

I would also recommend prior to purchase to post a link to the car on a new thread with the VIN. There are many known cars in the database or known by other members here. The information can be invaluable.  If there is something to know, the CRG members and moderators will help you out as best they can.
