After a recent visit by a Admin and another member concerning some parts, an interesting question was tossed out there. How many wrench/socket sizes does it take to disassemble a first Gen Camaro ? No you can't include the your Cresent !
I'm not at all sure if this has been asked here before, think carefully !

Well really if you wee trying to economize, and use the least amount, you could just use the 1/2 inch socket wrench and then reduce down to 3/8 and 1/4 where necessary. So you figure there is 3 with about 8 sockets and I would throw in one extension, so you have 12. I would also throw in a phillips socket. So that would make a lucky 13. That may be an oversimplification ... but somewhere around there?

Most guys do not even realize there IS a socket designed to hold the (GM) threaded stud on the top of the rear shocks, recess is a strange oval size, I have a snap on version in my tool box- Food for thought

Yep. And there is a less expensive version of similar quality.

Ed, that’s true. But it’s kind of like installing a harmonic balancer with a BFH. ;) 8)

Interesting photos of the rear shock mount. For 67, I've always installed/removed the upper shock rubber/washers on the mounting plate first then pushed the shock w/upper plate into the body opening and secured with the two bolts. No special tool was needed. Was 67 the only year to use two bolts to hold the upper rear shock plate to the body?
