Title: 68 #... help
Post by: frankrentef on February 26, 2007, 01:15:23 AM
Greetings all, I'm looking to purchase a 68 Camaro... the current owner emailed this number.

10D  ST67-12637  TR797-Z   2MGR  3DL  124377

I'm not able to match it up but they swear the number is correct.  I'm a semi newbie to first generation Camaro's.  I've been looking for over a year for the "right" one... I'm hoping this may be it.  :)

What am I doing wrong in my analysis... appreciate the help!

Frank

Hi Frank -

The information you supplied is for a 1967 Camaro, not a 1968.  In order to accurately decode these trim tag numbers you need to post the numbers exactly as they appear on the trim tag or better yet, post a picture of the trim tag.  Once you do that we can help you decode it.  Here's a link with some examples as well some info about decoding them:

Good luck finding your dream car!
