Car was final-assembled on or about December 24, 1968. That's 6 weeks prior to the release of the Z11 option.

You wonder why? It is a nice BB speed car. I would think the fake Z11 stuff would just hurt the value.

That was my view as well, Kelley... IMO, if an owner wants to change colors/interior/etc to SUIT HIMSELF, then go to it, ..
BUT... It's never a good idea to change manufacturer's tags etc... Yes, I definitely think he hurt the value of the car also!

Where are the heater hoses going?

The firewall has been "smoothed" or "shaved". Anyone's guess where the hoses go to.

It has Vintage Air. It's common to run the hoses to a bulkhead behind the fender. Some use one of numerous heater core hole cover plates available and install the bulkhead where the original heater core cover was.
