Title: 1969 replacement quarter information
Post by: x66 714 on November 23, 2018, 06:39:23 PM
I need to replace the lower quarter panels on my 69. The patches I find don't have the rear lip for spot welding. The quarter skins don't either. Will the full quarters have this material for spot welding & anybody have a specific brand?
Thank you, Joe

I believe I’d look at AMD - they appear better than some of the repro brands out there at present.

Thanks Steve. I'm waiting for a call back from Dynacorn. They actually make them for AMD....Joe

This has been discussed a lot on the forum - including comparing differences between Dynacorn, AMD, Goodmark, Heartbeat, and a lot of worse stuff. I found many threads, including this one from 2012 that has had a lot of views. I'm not trying to promote any one manufacturer or retailer, the statement I made was my own opinion -

I've owned three sets of factory GM quarters, still have the first set from 1978 that I bought from GM. I don't think I'd hesitate to drive to Buford and pick up a set from AMD, as the quality I've seen from them is very good. Again, just my opinion.

Steve

You may be right but I don’t think Dynacorn does quarters for AMD.  I will do some checking.
